HOW TO CARRY OUT HALASANA

Hala in Sanskrit means “plough”, for this Halasana is translated as “the plough position”. According to traction halasana logic allows to purify the mind of the practicing, creating optimum conditions for obtaining a more active mind and deeply relax the body.
HOW TO CARRY OUT HALASANA
Halasana or the position of the plough is a position of intermediate level not complicated but not easy in fact we must pay attention to some fundamental steps especially when exiting the position.
- Lie on the ground in a supine position and stretch your arms along your body.
- Try to bend the knees in such a manner that the feet remain adherent to the ground and the heels are close to the gluteus.
- Exhale and pressing your arms on the ground trying to push your feet up in the air, so as to raise your hips also off the ground and dropping your legs in the opposite direction.
- Raise the pelvic area and the lower part of the back so that the knees are increasingly close .
- Help the movement by bending the elbows and supporting the back with your hands.
- The bust should form an angle of 90 degrees with the ground.
- Inhale, stretch your knees, in such a manner that your legs are parallel to the ground, only the shoulder blades touching the ground and the chin pressed against the sternum.
- Try at this point to bring the feet towards the mat, keeping your legs stretched; when you reach the final position leave your arms are along your body, hands are relaxed and the palms are facing upwards. The gaze is directed toward the front, eyes can be kept both closed and open.
- Relax and breathe normally.
- BE CAREFUL: to exit from the position, sustain with arms and hands your back while bringing it towards the ground, also fold your legs. Carry out this movement slowly, leaving the back touch the ground vertebra after vertebra, without ever raising your head from the mat.
Halasana or position of the plough is an intermediate position which however is not suitable for everyone and in fact is contraindicated
– If you suffer from diarrhea,
– In the case of menstruation
– In the case of a recent accident to the neck
