What are the mandala and how do they work? Well Mandalas can really help overcome anxiety and stress.
The mandala can be beautiful decorative objects, but also original tools that can make us relax by their shapes and colours. There are also in black and white for us to colour just as a pass time to fight stress.
The word “mandala” comes from the Sanskrit and means “sacred circle”.
The mandala is a graphical representation of the circle of life in Hindu and in Buddhist culture, they arrived to the west through symbols, books and even fabrics.
MANDALA ORIGIN AND MEANING
Mandalas are representations of energy of life, in which also the colours transmit energy and benefits. In Tibet, for example, this type of artistic events are very common and there are colours everywhere. They converge the spiritual world, nature, love and even healing.
Mandalas are therefore mystic symbols rich in meaning that fulfill different purposes:
- Fill the house with positive energies and bring balance and prosperity.
- Convert the energy that is negative into positive.
- Represent the vital balance, peace and calm.
- Release equilibrium and vitality.
MANDALA AND COLOURS
The mandala symbolize energy and colours and through their colours evolves their power:
- RED is the colour of the first chakra and transmits the power and the value of love and passion. It is also the symbol of pride.
- ORANGE: represents the second Chakra. It is the colour of ambition, optimism and strength that exists in each of us to achieve our aims and objectives.
- YELLOW is the colour of the third chakra. It symbolizes intelligence, good practice and personal liberation.
- GREEN: is equivalent to the fourth chakra. It means hope and healing and transmits the balance between love and rationality.
- BLUE is the colour of the fifth chakra and is the reflection of calm, peace and tolerance.
- INDIGO: this colour represents the sixth chakra and helps us to communicate with our inner self, helps us to resolve the problems with balance and good practice.
- VIOLET: represents the seventh chakra. It is a symbol of fantasy and spirituality, a mystical colour in almost all cultures.
- PINK: is the eighth chakra. Pink is a colour that represents love, friendship and enchantment.
BENEFITS OF THE MANDALA
As already mentioned there are colouring books with the mandala, but not only for children but also for adults, who
get countless benefits and in fact:
– Colouring a mandala can be a relaxation exercise, to rest the mind and senses through their forms and their original figures.
– There are mandala that have various twists for which the choice of colours not only obliges us to concentrate more, but also to play with the feelings that arise from those shades. Through the colours we choose we manage to understand better also our emotions.
– To colour a mandala, you can take half an hour, but also a couple of days, but it is obviously time dedicated to ourselves.
