What are the famous Japanese detox patches?  Do you know their use and benefits? Lets discover together the properties of the DETOX PATCHES.

They originate from Japan but nowadays we find produced and sold by many companies, they are called detox patches, these patches are big enough to fit under the feet and stay there for a whole night, at the end of the night from their original white colour the patches become practically dark brown, greasy and quite smelly.  The Japanese who currently hold the record of longest-living population in the world, claim that these patches prepared with natural ingredients such as bamboo vinegar, vitamins or herbs, are capable of capturing the toxins from our organism, practically making the patches turn black from white.  The supporters of these patches also believe that the lower part of the foot is the best place were to apply these detox patches, since all the blood flow passes through the feet, and they are the part of our body that is least stimulated, hence were the blood circulation is slower and therefore tends to stagnate.  These patches stimulate blood and lymphatic flow in our body giving us a complete purification.

BENEFITS:

  • Stimulate metabolism and blood circulation
  • Reduce joint pains, headache and swelling
  • Remove the toxins from all our body through the blood and lymphatic systems and through the acupuncture points
  • Relieve tension, freeing from fatigue
  • Relax muscles and tendons
  • Reintegrate vital energy and strengthen kidneys
  • Promote a restful sleep
  • Soften skin
  •  Give feet a better smell
  • Stimulate health in general

In order to give freedom of speech and beliefs we must also mention the version of those who find these patches absolutely useless because according to certain ideas the patch will darken due to the humidity and from the feet it is not possible to release anything because the skin there does not have an easily permeable membrane:  In normal conditions the substances found on the surface of the foot (characterised by thicker skin in respect to the rest of the body) and those flowing in the blood do not flow freely from one part to another.  In the human body, the toxins are normally expelled through feces and urine following the joint action of liver and kidneys, and the skin only has a marginal role in this process.

Obviously being typical of Styleoga® we suggest all the versions because we strongly believe in freedom and subjectivity, however we would like to share with you our personal experience.  We have applied these patches brought diretly from Japan; the immediate feeling was that of heat on our feet and legs as if they were on fire, in the morning the patches were not only black but also greasy, sticky and bad smelling, basically our feet stuck a bit everywhere; and most probably the most interesting thing was that they were different in colour, they did not darken equally; we also tried the experiment of removing one patch before the other one, and the one that was kept till the morning turned out to be darker and stickier whilst the other patch was less dark and in some points it was almost still clean.

There are many versions of these patches such as the ones with the Himalaya salt, and with other medicinal plants and herbs, furthermore the supporters claim that iif they are applied in certain points of the foot they work in the same way as foot reflexology.  It is clear that oriental medicine has different fundamentals with respect to Western medicine and it is therefore clear that it is not ideal for everyone regardless of their beliefs.
