UV lamps and excessive sun: what are the damages caused?
Although we have not yet reached spring we are all so ardently desiring summer and there are those people who at this point want to be tanned all year round, but is this good?
UV lamps are good or harmful? An excessive exposure to the sun is good or harmful?
UV lamps and excessive sun
Did you know that the TAN from a solarium, leads to “addiction”, pushing to excess the desire for an even more accentuated tan due to the fact that socially it is thought to be right?
This is how it actually is although dermatologists however have a very clear idea especially in view of the constant increase in the incidence of skin cancer that is being recorded in recent decades and that seems to be due to the UV lamps and the so-called wild tanning.
The data of research and studies are very clear and speak of damage that should not be underestimated such as:
- Erythema,
- Dehydration,
- Reduction of the immune defenses of the epidermis,
- Acceleration of the processes of photooxidation,
- Premature aging and marked wrinkles, nevus and dark spots on the skin.
And the icing on the cake, quite disgusting is a clear and significant increase in the risk of developing melanoma and other skin tumors.
Those who are exposed to UV lamps and excessive sun regularly go through these dangers proven by clinical studies and scientific research to be very very serious.
These damages are then amplified by the fact that the effects of exposure to artificial ultraviolet rays (UV), hence those of the lamps available all year round added to the solar radiation which we are inevitably exposed every time we are outdoors, in the car, near a window ecc.
Currently there is no safe way to expose ourselves to the sun but at least we can try to limit the damage with some precautions and by following some important rules:
UV LAMPS AND EXCESSIVE SUN RULES TO LIMIT DAMAGE
This way is to protect at least in part the epidermis other fundamental components of the dermis, starting from fibroblasts, collagen and elastin.
Those who cannot do without the lamps must carefully choose a serious beauty centre with competent and professional staff.
As well as when you go to the beach even when you go to the solarium you must choose the RIGHT SUNSCREENS, depending on your skin type, on the characteristics of skin dryness and age.
We must also remember that the rays emitted by lamps, showers and sunbeds are only of UVA type.
These types of radiations, are in fact the worse than the UVB radiations because they have the same capacity to damage the skin and cause serious melanomas but cause less erythema and burns, and this means that we notice less visually the damage that we are doing anyway! It is therefore necessary at least to settle for a clearer colour by reducing the time spent in the solariums.
It is also important to know that according to dermatologists, artificial tanning should be prohibited at least to people under 18 and above 60 years of age, pregnant women or those taking hormonal contraceptives, to those who suffer or have suffered from autoimmune diseases, subjects in treatment with photosensitising drugs and, needless to say, who has personally experienced or has close relatives who have suffered from melanoma.
Some dermatologists also advise against prolonged exposure to the sun and therefore also to the lamps to those who has a low phototype (1-2), i.e. red hair or light blond hair and blue or green eyes and a milky complexion.
What must I say?? If you cannot dowithout a tan at least be careful!!!!
