Yoga for children!
How many times have we already spoken about yoga especially for adults, but actually in India (where yoga was born) and also in Tibet, the yoga practice is taught to children already from a very young age. Slowly this ideal is also spreading itself in Europe and in Italy it is doing very well thanks to the statistics which tell us that schools and/or associations have started yoga courses for children, these same statistics have also pointed out that there has been a decrease in bullying, violence and abuse of video games in these schools.
But what is yoga for children and why should children practice yoga?
Yoga, according to some teachers of this initiative, enriches and enhances the potential of the children and in general of all the subjects in the growth phase.
It is a philosophy that offers very high values, such as teaching your kids how to socialise, relate to one another, meet and respect themselves and each other. Adolescents learn how to work in a group through the exercises done in couples, to have patience with each other and especially to think before acting, precisely because there is an education to slow down and think.
Benefits of yoga for children
The results of the practice of yoga in the children’s world are well visible immediately. Many modify wrong lifestyles which previously were not even taken into consideration such as:
- Too much television
- Too much time on game consoles/tablets/pc/smartphone
- Unbalanced diets
- Tendency to bullying
- Verbal violence
- Tendency towards a sedentary lifestyle
Yoga would therefore act positively on all these aspects, bringing back the balance and becoming a valuable tool in the service of the intellectual and physical growth of the subjects.
If we think that before children used to play in the courtyards, in the squares and in the meadows and that today this genuine life has been replaced overbearingly by long afternoons closed in the house in front of scenes of violence on tv, videogames, films, or an overflow of homework that stresses the;, yoga and meditation give back a little bit of calmness and tranquility to children, a bit of balance both physical and mental, a sort of new interior movement, an exercise that develops the muscles and removes energy blocks.
Yoga for children: is a playful version
Yoga for children however is actually not entirely similar to yoga for adults but has a completely ludic and playful aspect. Children practice yoga, but actually they follow very simple and common games such as:
– Games to measure their capacity
– Games to respect the spaces of others
– Breathing Games
In addition there is very much on the control of emotions through fairy tales that then represent the positions.
We can conclude by saying that yoga truly does good and gives benefits to everyone at any age!!!!
