Nigella Lawson and the other chefs that transform the Italian cuisine!

The Italian cuisine also known as the Mediterranean diet has been defined as the best in the world, intangible heritage of UNESCO, because it is able to maintain people healthy, through the choice of excellent products, a variety of products and food combinations and apart all this we were always under attack.

I say we are under attack because anyone who has got what to do with food in any way, or just loves to eat or cook is under attack by chefs from every part of the world who transform our beloved cuisine making it very often fat, greasy and unhealthy.

In these days Nigella Lawson a famous British Chef, who became famous thanks to the Italian cuisine, is defining herself an expert of the sector and has programs on national networks cooking our Italian dishes, she is currently accused due to her post on one of her famous cooking blogs in which she explains the recipe of the Carbonara by adding cream. Obviously and luckily many have people written and commented about this horror.

The Carbonara in itself is not a super healthy dish, but if done properly and with the right ingredients such as olive oil, fresh eggs etc, can still be a treat on our tables at least once a month, but absolutely with NO cream.

Great Britain has unfortunately a sad primacy in Europe, the highest percentage of child obesity and the daily common and bad eating habits just do not help, if we also add the famous local chefs than what fate does the British population have???

Nigella Lawson is not the only one to transform our beloved and HEALTHY cuisine, making it become a symbol of fat around the world, that now in the countries with the highest risk of obesity tend precisely to avoid the italian cuisine thinking that pasta and pizza are what fatten without realizing that it is not the pasta itself but what we put into it, it is not the pizza but its size and with what it is garnished,  it is certainly not our beloved Margherita.

The mediterranean diet is considered healthy due to its variety of recipes, ingredients, fruit and vegetables in quantities and products of excellence, but it is clear that you need to know how to use them and it is clear that if to a Margherita you want to add another 30 ingredients at that point there is nothing healthy anymore, or if to an exquisite soup with legumes we want to add cream, bacon, butter or anything else it will go from being a great dish to a super caloric bomb.

Unfortunately Nigella is not the only one and I must say that there are others who are even more successful such as the famous Cake Boss, who for a TV season decided to become a chef of italian cuisine giving precious pearls to the unaware Americans who found themselves eating lasagna stuffed with chicken cutlets in barbecue sauce and mustard thinking that it was an authentic dish from the italian cuisine….

My Dear Cake Boss not only there is nothing of Italian in this dish but you’re harming and offending the wonderful mediterranean diet this way, it would have been better to say that these recipes are a very freely explained and especially Americanised interpretation of the Italian cuisine, and it would have been better to say that in Italy such a dish would have not only been eaten by anyone but most probably chef Cannavacciuolo would have given you a couple or more of his famous slaps…. On the other hand how can we blame him??

LETS CONSTANTLY DEFEND THE MEDITERRANEAN DIET AGAINST THESE HORRORS!!!!
