WHAT IS BANANA MADE OUT OF

The banana consists of a small part of carbohydrates, fats 0,4 %, fibres 2,4 %, 1 % of proteins, 12 % sugar, water 75 %, 5 % of starch and 0,8 % ash.

There are also many minerals present in the banana such as:

– Calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, copper, fluoride, sodium and selenium.

The main mineral is potassium, which thanks to its properties, is indispensable for the functioning of the cardiovascular system, and brings many benefits to the human body.

The banana also contains many vitamins such as: vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C, K and J. The banana also contains beta-carotene, alpha-carotene, lutein, zeaxanthin, monounsaturated fatty acids, polyunsaturated fatty acids and saturated fatty acids.

The sugar present in the banana is divided into sucrose, dextrose and fructose.

It contains also some amino acids: aspartic acid and glutamic acid, alanine, arginine, cystine, phenylalanine, glycine, isoleucine, histidine, leucine, methionine, proline tyrosine, threonine and valine.

Let us now look at the benefits of the banana which are truly many but lets reassume them to the 5 most relevant:

  • Lowers the blood pressure: let us begin by saying that it lowers the blood pressure. The banana in fact contains high quantities of substances with antioxidant properties that regulate the blood pressure. Its assumption regulates the cardiac function, takes care of the health of the bones and the eyesight, but not only. Substances with antioxidant properties are a valuable help to counteract the activity of free radicals.
  • Kidney Cancer prevention: Some studies in Ireland, show that the regular consumption of bananas is linked to the reduction of the incidence of renal cancer, this thanks to the high content of potassium. A banana per day, or almost, to remove the risk of cancer in the kidneys.

  • HELPS DIGESTION AND KEEPS THE CHOLESTEROL CONTROLLED: The dietary fibres contained in the banana are very useful to the digestive process and contribute to maintaining the intestine in perfect working order. It also has a good content of pectin that together with the fibre helps to keep the cholesterol under control.

The banana is therefore a good ally to our health but has also some contraindications that must be kept in mind.

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF BANANAS

Bananas can also have contraindications associated especially to the presence of allergenic proteins inside its pulp that could cause food allergies in individuals who are already predisposed. People who suffer from diabetes should consume them moderately , preferring those unripe, less rich in sugar. Attention should also be paid by those suffering from gastroduodenal ulcer.
