Three cholesterol fighting teas.

Fight cholesterol with a correct diet but also with the right teas & herbs.

Ingredients for 1 person:

  • half a spoon of grrek hay (prepared for tea)
  • 1 teaspoon liquorice
  • 150ml water
  • if preferred sweet we suggest to use stevia (although it best to consume unsweetened)

Bring the water to a boil & pour into a teapot were you would have previously put all the ingredients, let simmer for 10 minutes, filter, mix & drink.  Up to 2 cups a day between meals.

Greek hay helps reduce the levels of glycemia & cholesterol in our blood, while liquorice has anti-inflammatory & detoxifying properties.

CHOLESTEROL-LOWERING TEA

4 CALORIES PER CUP

Ingredients for 1 person:

  • 1 teaspoon rooibos
  • half a teaspoon Tea cut chicory leaves
  • 150ml water
  • stevia if preferred sweetened

pour the herbs into a teapot, bring the water to a boil & as soon as it boils pour over the herbs in the teapot, let set for 5 minutes, filter, add the stevia, mix & drink.  Up to 2 cups per day.

The rooibos helps lower “bad” cholesterol whilst the chicory is purifying & very useful especially if suffering from constipation.

FAT BURNING TEA

4 CALORIES PER CUP

Ingredients for 1 person:

  • 1 teaspoon pu-erh tea
  • 1cm grated ginger root
  • 150ml water

Bring the water to a boil & pour into the teapot were you have previously placed the ingredients, filter after 5 minutes, mix & drink.  Up to 2 cups per day during main meals.

PU-ERH tea helps digestion, weightloss & controls the level of cholesterol in our blood.

Each of these teas together with a balanced diet & physical activity can really help us keep cholesterol & glycemia controlled, furthermore we must avoid highly elaborated industrialy produced foods, and if you can’t really do without at least; read labels carefully, choose products containing few ingredients & no hydrogenated fat.  We must prefer foods rich in fibre such as: fresh fruit & vegetables, wholegrain cereals & derivates, these have a lower gylemic index level & are richer in fibre.
