Avocado originates froom Mexico and if on the outside we have a hard rough skin on the inside we have a buttery pulp, rich in monounsaturated fat and with approximately 10% omega 6, it practically has a composition similar to the one of extra virgin olive oil, hence able to regulate the cholesterol level in our blood, increasing the level of the so called “good” cholesterol. Thanks to these characteristics avocado is very much appreciated by vegans and vegetarians, once opened in must be consumed in a very short time because its pulp turns brown very quickly.
Avocado contains lots of fibre, vitamin E (an excellent anti-oxidant), carbohydrates, protein and potassium. The best way of eating avocado is just with a spray of lemon juice on it since lemon is rich in vitamin C it improves the assimilation of vitamin E, that is very precious for our organism.
