Recipe for apple cake without butter and milk!
A tasty, light and healthy recipe without butter nor any other type of oil or milk, how is it possible?
Follow the recipe step-by- step and discover how tasty it is, also suitable for vegans and lactose intolerant but also for those who want to keep in shape without sacrificing taste.
Excellent for breakfast but also as a snack due to the benefiial properties of the apple and the spices including cinnamon, vanilla, cloves and anise. A winter treat in reality very close to bread which must be consumed fairly quickly and it is for this reason that the recipes quantity is right to make a small round mold of about 22 cm in diameter, it is also excellent with a good cream with ricotta cheese alongside or for breakfast with a good marmalade. It is absolutely very low in calories as you will see from the ingredients that are very few but very tasty. Attention though because the wholemeal flour has a different use but it is also the one that makes less harm to our organism therefore our suggestion is to use it instead of white flour (that is refined and chemically treated) in all the preparations that require flour
It takes very little time but requires a little bit of patience.
Approximately 4 apples red or yellow
150 g whole wheat flour
1 organicl egg
100 ml warm water
1 sachet of baking powder for sweets
60 g unrefined sugar
Mix of spices: cinnamon, cloves, vanilla and star anise (you can prepare the mix and keep it in a jar for all other preparations, about 20 g of each ingredient lightly chopped)
Peel the apples and cut them into cubes, put them in a saucepan with half a glass of water (apart from the 100 ml already prepared) with 20 g of sugar and abundant mix of spices.
The apples will slowly soften and take colour, it takes about ten minutes, when they are ready use about 2 thirds of the mixture to coat the bottom of the pan. The pan must be covered with greaseproof paper and at the base add the apples which must cover the entire surface. Put the remaining third of the apples in a blender and make a creamy pulp to add to the mixture.
For the dough put the egg, flour and then the sugar in a bowl, mixing vigorously with water, add the apples pulp and continue to stir until the compound becomes creamy, at this point add the yeast for sweets, mix a little bit more and pour the pulp that must be smooth and homogenous in the pan over the apples. Put in the oven for about 15 minutes at 180 degrees, always check with a toothpick before removing from the oven. Cool well before removing the cake from the oven and from the pan/tin, which as I said has a very soft and different consistency from the similar cakes.
