The ingredients of Nutella!
This photo that in theory would show the ingredients of Nutella, i.e. whats is inside a jar of Nutella became viral. As soon as the picture was published, the web got crazy and it has spread just like an oil stain, obviuosly with the question mark on the veracity of the photo itself and on the percentage of the ingredients contained.
Seeing the photo gives a somewhat embarrassing image of this unfortunately “true” Italian product, and I say unfortunately because the Italian laws, labels, and checks, the Italians are amongst the most stringent in the world thus assuring us to have the best products on the market and on our tables and for this we must absolutely be proud and conscious especially even if some times something goes wrong even on our tables.
We must specify that we can say only ‘in theory” because the photo was neither confirmed nor denied by the parent company that retains having to hold the secret of this famous recipe.
This is our question however:
Would I prefer to keep the secret and let out a horrible photo like this, deny or say the truth?
The point is that from the picture it shows that the famous jar is composed mostly by sugar and Palm oil.
The sugar represents the largest share of the jar and is immediately followed by the now notorious palm oil. In reality as for hazelnuts and cocoa we can see very little as well as for milk powder.
Assuming that this picture represents the true reality of the product would you continue to eat it anyway?
The share of sugar present in only one jar of Nutella (always according to this photo) represents the amount that an adult should eat in six months of his life, while on the other hand those who love nutella consume a jar of it in a few days, therefore you can imagine the damage that we are doing to our body?
If you would like to go deeper into the subject you can also read why sugar should be banned for children.
