WHICH HERBS ARE RELAXING AND ANTISTRESS?
Nature offers us solutions for everything and even amongst the herbs there are some against stress and nervousness, relaxing that may act in the form of a relaxing herbal tea, infusion or as mother tincture or essential oil to be applied to certain areas of the body.
To prepare a good infusion it usually takes 3-4 tablespoons of the chosen herbs, 1 litre of boiling water and an infusion period not less than 5 minutes… to consume strictly in a moment of the day free from commitments or in the evening before going to sleep.
WHICH HERBS ARE RELAXING?
Lets see a few:
Borage
The borage is a good ally against stress. The boiled water or the infusion obtained by boiling 3-4 tablespoons of dry borage leaves per litre of water is ideal for adjusting the hormonal activity and finding the right balance between mind and body.
Valerian
The valerian is perhaps one of the most famous in this sense. The valerian is a antispasmodic, soothing, plant very effective against insomnia, thanks to the action of some of the substances contained in it (valerianic acid and iridoids) that serve to inhibit the enzyme that regulates the neuronal excitability, that induces the feeling of relaxation and sleep. Attention it is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation. The valerian may be used in the form of an infusion: pour 1 level spoonful of root of Valerian into 1 cup of boiling water and leave for 10 minutes. Filter and drink before going to sleep.
Melissa and Chamomile
Surely Melissa and chamomile are herbs that are more indicated for preparing relaxing and slightly sedative herbal teas. Chamomile, in particular, helps us to rest well but attention though it should be left for very little in infusion otherwise you risk the opposite effect.
Ginseng
Ginseng is famous as the most powerful antidepressant and energizing that nature can offer us. Its properties are known since millennia and much appreciated especially in the Eastern culture. In order to consume the ginseng and enjoy all the benefits you can take it in tablets ready for purchase in herbalists or pharmacies.
Linden
Also linden is a great resource of nature; it is in fact a herb from numerous therapeutic virtues especially, relaxing of the nervous system. Linden has a relaxing, sedative and antispasmodic effect. An infusion based on dried leaves of linden helps to limit nervousness and stress, anxiety and headache. Filter the infusion after leaving 1 flat teaspoon of linden leaves in boiling water for 5 minutes. You can Sweeten with honey.
Lavender
Lavender is famous for its fragrance, in reality it is also a relaxing herb and especially indicated for sleeping well. You can take it in the form of an infusion, as any other herb, or in the bath with mineral salts based on lavender.
Rosemary
Rosemary is always considered as one of the natural tonics indicated for fighting mental and physical fatigue, it can be drunk in the form of an infusion together with peppermint. It is also an aid against stress and to find the right harmony.
With the herbs we can combine a warm bath with some of these herbs and the result is assured.
HERBS FOR THE BATH TUB
Choose carefully:
- 50 grams of dried flowers of Skullcap
- 50 grams of dried flowers of Chamomile
- 50 gr of Sacred basil leaves
- 50 grams of dried flowers of verbena
- 50 grams of dried flowers of melissa
Preparation.
In a cotton gauze put all the herbs and close it carefully with a string. Immerse the bag in the bath water, and directly under the jet of the faucet while filling the tub. Take a bath of at least 20-30 minutes.
